Greg's photographic art evolved organically, in his heart. He wanted to do something special for his father on his 80th birthday; and after taking courses in Photoshop from a gifted “old-school” photographer and print maker, he started creating a “Father and Son” collection, showing the two of them at similar stages in life. The collection grew into a portfolio of work showing father and son engaged in similar activities, highlighting, and contrasting certain aspects of their relationship. He set out to explore and express in a photographic art form, his love and gratitude beyond words.
Expanding to reveal the inner character of family, students, clients and famous personalities, he has completed over 200 portraits. He calls these, Time Dimensional Portraits®. You may view the full collection at AlperDigitalArt.com or follow the link in the images below to see a few samples which portray the influence of music and family on his life.
In addition to his work with photo montage, Greg has created a portfolio which captures the beauty of his surroundings in Southern California. This collection, entitled Palisades Panoramas, has shown frequently within the past year in public gallery spaces. The images reflect the vividness of his natural sensibilities and the technical mastery of the photographic tools he uses.
